The federal government has decided not to remove the names of 172 people included in the Exit Control List (ECL) list immediately.

During the meeting of the federal cabinet, Prime Minister Imran Khan reviewed the names of 172 people involved in the ECL, on this occasion briefing the Prime Minister on behalf of the Minister for Interior, Urban Affairs and legal experts.

According to the sources, the federal cabinet decided to review the cases of the people involved in the ECL and not immediately remove the name of all people from the ECL.

Sources say that the meeting was decided that in the light of orders of Supreme Court, every person involved in the ECL will be reviewed separately and some names will be removed from the ECL when the review is completed.

Remember that the Supreme Court on December 31 expressed concern over 172 people in the ECL in light of the JIT report during the hearing of fake bank accounts case.

Chief Justice Pakistan directed the Minister for Interior to review the names listed in the ECL.
